To Deb at HorseBuds Therapeutic Riding Center, what fun it was to volunteer today! You did a Great job celebrating our rider's birthday and I think she really enjoyed it! You put a lot of thought and time into making it special for her!—Debby Sullivan

Have only met her once but that was all i needed, they are one amazing family. I say family because it is a family from Deb to a supportive husband to her children who help. Then there are all the volunteers and all the ones who are getting the help they give. They all make it easy to be a family. I follow them on facebook so i can see all the progress each one is making and it beyond amazing to see.—Paula Mongillo Rideout

AMAZING program! Has helped countless young and seasoned riders come into their own. Betters our community and lifts our hearts.—Rebecca Fulenwider, SWAP Specialist at Centennial BOCES

HorseBuds has given my daughter Michelle a much better way of relating to animals than she previously had.  She has always been drawn to animals, but hasn’t always treated them with gentleness and respect.  Our cat was very patient to survive being stuffed in her shirt, made to walk on his front paws and held in very strange ways.  Deb has patiently instructed her, and Michelle has since come to be kinder to animals AND has had the exposure to them she has longed for when we were busy doing inner-city missions. She says now “I want to be a horse trainer”, but Deb patiently reminds her, “You already are!  Everytime you are with a horse, you either train it or untrain it.”

Thank you Deb and all the many lovely volunteers who have loved on my girl!

You have opened my son’s heart. He loves Chamois so much. His doc said that his scoliosis is not as prevalent! With time and patience: just look at the results, it speaks a thousand words!— Mandy M, July 2015

My son goes to Horsebuds and also volunteers there. My son has become more verbal since going to her program. It has also has helped Colin physically with his scoliosis. Please help support this wonderful program. Debra works so hard to keep the program up and running, as well as training staff etc. We need this in our community. Kevin M. November 2015

It’s kind of weird to say this, but HorseBuds is my friend. It taught me how to treat and be atround animals, but mostly it taught me that animals have personalities. Horses understand you and bond with you. They comfort you and are your buddies. Thank you HorseBuds for teaching me this.—Veronica S, June 2105

I volunteer here because I enjoy knowing that someone has been tangibly helped by me effort. Working with HorseBuds, I’ve seen more improvement that I thought was possible, in more kids that one. I couldn’t have found a better way to help my community. I look forward to working with veterans. The veteran's have given so much to us and I would like to give back to them by giving them an opportunity to have some peaceful time with the horses. —Mere Riley

Chamois is the sweetest horse. She is very caring and pleasant. She's my buddy and I love her. She's my horse and she is kind and loving. I like her eyes; I like everything. She's gorgeous! — May 2, 2014 Michelle S. (participant)

To be honest, my son has never responded to someone as quickly as he has apparently done with you and your volunteers. I have watched him blossom in this program. Thank you for the opportunity for him to participate.

"My most enlightening experience was having the privilege of working with the clients and watching them improve.

What surprised me the most was how well the clients developed overtime.

My favorite experience was developing a strong bond with one of the clients.

I want to continue volunteering at HorseBuds and learn, and teach about the disabled community to others."

Mikaela C.—HorseBuds TRC Volunteer, January 2014
